2 grands axes de recherche sont présentement en cours dans mon laboratoire

  • Recherche portant sur la pré-éclampsie, une maladie où les femmes développent de l’hypertension et de la protéinurie pendant la grossesse, et sur l’effet de l’entraînement physique sur cette pathologie dans des modèles animaux.
  • Recherche sur l’hypertension liée à l’obésité. Investigation de l’implication du système rénine-angiotensine (RAS) local dans le tissu adipeux. Implication du récepteur à la rénine dans l’obésité. Développement de nouveaux modèles murins qui surexpriment  ce système spécifiquement dans le tissu adipeux.  Déterminer quel type d’inhibiteurs du RAS, entre les inhibiteurs de la rénine, l’enzyme de conversion ou les bloqueurs des récepteurs de l’angiotensine II, pourrait être plus efficace pour traiter des individus souffrant d’hypertension reliée à l’obésité.
