The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine provides a dynamic environment of research and teaching in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Bioinformatics. The Université de Montréal is one of the top 3 research Universities in Canada and the Department of Biochemistry is among the strongest research department in the country.
Our modern laboratories are equipped with state-of-the art equipment and the scientific platforms available within the Department and its affiliated research institutes provide ideal work conditions for the more than 200 graduate students in biochemistry and bioinformatics. In addition, the 350 plus students in our undergraduate biochemistry program participate in our research activities through laboratory internships as part of their curriculum.
Our new undergraduate program in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine is unique in Canada. This new program offers a flexible education that is designed to provide diversified training in biomedical research that meets the constantly changing interests of our students.
